My first party here at Murray. It was the annual block party. I was so nervous I was about to back out of going, but my friends at the time kept on and kept on until they had me convinced to say a definite yes. Now the block party is held in this subdivision of houses and there’s parties everywhere and many different houses. Now when I first heard of this I was thinking, this is going to be a nice party, it will be nice and fun not too crazy. I was completely wrong, it was drinking everywhere, there was a guy that literally passed out and had to get put in the back of a truck. Inside the parties people were sweaty stepping all over people, it was way too much. I learned that night to always wear tennis shoes when going to parties, and NEVER drink at a party.

College has been experience I can say that at the least. I made friends, I had experiences, and I lived and learned to say THE least. My next blogs will all be stories of my experiences, of my friends, and all that I’ve learned from being here at college..

Are vegetables really good for you? People say that they are, but all foods can be bad in a certain way. You can’t eat too many carrots or else you turn orange. So ask yourself are vegetables really good for me?

In English class I am typing an eight page paper of diets dealing with weight loss. Diets from the Keto diet to diets like the Apple Cider Vinegar plus water diet. These are just a couple of examples that will be in my paper. What do you think about dieting, do you encourage them, or would you rather lose weight the old fashioned way and just exercise alone and just cut down on junk food.

Approximately two million people in the United States are living with amputations, according to the Amputee Coalition. Someone is always in need of a limb somewhere on there body because they have gotten injured and have to have it amputated or they have a disease of some sort that has spread to a limb and have to get it amputated. In those unfortunate cases, people really need the Technology to replace their limb and function as if, whatever limb was cut off, behaves like the normal one. To have someone WANT the doctor to cut off a perfectly functioning limb, and replace it was some technology is just a crazy idea to me. I know I like my body parts, and if they’re functioning just fine I’m going to leave it that way. Plus it would be offensive to some people who actually need it but can’t afford it at the moment. I think the thought of voluntarily getting one of two or all of your limbs cut off for technology is ridiculous. It is your body and you can do whatever you want to it, but be real, why would you do that?

What is real and what is fake news now a days. So many things are going on all around the world everyday, but some how they seem to find a way to make things up that aren’t even happening. Because of this epidemic, people aren’t believing the real news anymore. If there were to be an actual apocalypse, and the news tried to warn everyone, no one, and I mean absolutely no one, will actually believe them until they see it with their own eyes. Just watch what you believe in, because it all isn’t true.

When you walk into a toy store, what do you usually see? A section for boys, and a section for girls. Now the question at hand today is should toy stores be more gender neutral, and my opinion is it doesn’t really matter to be honest. Boys have their interest and girls have theirs. It shouldn’t become a big ordeal about toys. Now if it was said that girls HAD to play with dolls, and barbie dream houses, and what-not, and that boys HAD to play with cars, and action figures, and super hero toys, then that is a totally different argument. The fact they have a toys separated for boys and girls isn’t a big deal in my opinion, it’s until they start that they don’t have a choice that they HAVE to play with what toys are in those sections based off of their gender is what the problem is. Let’s say a little girl, for example, loves to play with toy cars and monster trucks but she also has her moments when she likes to play with her dolls and things, it shouldn’t matter, toys are toys no matter who plays with them.

Kids have a very, very vivid imagination, they don’t know that certain toys are for girls and certain toys are for boys unless they were told so by an adult. Adults put the “gender” of certain toys into children’s minds. Most adults use what their kids play with as a sign to their kids liking the same gender as themselves which is absurd. If a little boy wants to play with dolls and things let him, you don’t want to force him to play with a certain toy that he doesn’t want to play with because then you run into a problem. Kids will be kids at the end of the day, Jimmy wants to play with Barbie and Ken let him, and if Janae wants to play with Superman and toy cars let her. The moral of this whole thing is let kids play with what they want to play with, and also let kids be who they want to be, because in the long run they will grow to resent you for not loving them for who they are.

Do you think it’s more important to have technology in elementary school or college? In elementary school they have infamous amounts of programs that are there to help the students stay more engaged and also learn while doing it. In college we communicate the best electronically. We don’t even schedule a meeting with our professors in person we do it online, they even have an app where you can meet your professor online. We submit assignments, have discussion boards, and so many more things in college. It’s not important in one area or important in another, we all utilize in our own way.

Should there be any technology in any classroom? It provides quicker and easier ways for the teacher to teach efficiently and precisely, but it really helpful? We all know that technology is very popular in today’s world. In the last 5 years alone technology has exploded like no other. Kids at ages 7 and 8 have iPhones. I don’t know about y’all but I didn’t get a phone until I was 12 and that was a flip phone. I didn’t get my first iPhone until I was 15 almost 16. The world has become so revolved around technology, even restaurants have it where you can order your food without a waiter or waitress. It has enhanced the rest of the world, so why not in the classroom?
